Everything went according to plan in Jinjiang where twelfth ranked Guangsha Lions (10-13) outscored bottom-ranked Sturgeons (4-19) 130-102 on Wednesday. Guangsha Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Sturgeons' 48 and made 35-of-44 free shots (79.5 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Sturgeons 47-32 including a 38-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guangsha Lions looked well-organized offensively handing out 45 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Sturgeons' players. The best player for the winners was the former international center Jinqiu Hu (210-97) who scored 27 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international Yanhao Zhao (194-97) chipped in 26 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. American point guard Trae Golden (189-91, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Network Sports International) produced 24 points and 7 assists and Canadian Andrew Nicholson (206-89, college: St.Bonaventure) added 25 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) respectively for the hosts. Five Guangsha Lions and four Sturgeons players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Guangsha Lions maintains twelfth position with 10-13 record, which they share with Shanghai S. Loser Sturgeons stay at the bottom place with 19 games lost.
