Not a big story in a game in Sichuan where 9th ranked Blue Whales (11-12) were defeated by fourth ranked Flying Tigers (19-6) 103-98 on Wednesday. Flying Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Blue Whales' players. The best player for the winners was the former international center Qi Zhou (217-96) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks. Lithuanian power forward Donatas Motiejunas (213-90) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds. U.S. Virgin Islands-American forward Marcus Georges-Hunt (196-94, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) produced 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Tangwen Yuan (185-0) added 14 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Five Flying Tigers and four Blue Whales players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Flying Tigers have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Blue Whales lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 12 games lost. Flying Tigers will meet at home league's second-placed Guandong Tigers in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Blue Whales will play against Sharks (#13) in Shanghai and hope to secure a win.
