The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-81. 26 personal fouls committed by Astana helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Sir'Dominic Pointer (198-1992, college: St.John's) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Mustafa Rashed (177-2002) contributed with 23 points and 5 assists for the winners. Five Al-Manama players scored in double figures. American point guard Markell Johnson (188-1998, college: NC State) answered with 29 points and 6 assists and the other American import Karvel Anderson (188-1991, college: RMU) added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Astana. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
