South Korea clinch the title in Incheon

South Korea are the new Asian Games champions. They avenged the loss in the Final of 2010 edition of the tournament and beat China to conquer the trophy. Beon Yeonha (180-F-80) nailed 16 points to pace the hosts. China eked out a 19:18 lead after the opening quarter. They maintained the advantage throughout the second frame. China established a 35:33 halftime lead. But South Korea erased the deficit and eked out a one-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. The home team held China to just 12 points in the fourth period and rallied to the victory at the end. Sin Jung Ja (185-C/F-80) netted 14 points, while Kim Danbi (180-F-90) added 13 points for the winners. Shi Xiufeng (178-PG-87) responded with 16 points for China. Zhang Fan (188-F-84) accounted for 13 points and 9 rebounds in the defeat.
3-4 Place
Taiwan - Japan 59-61
Japan outgunned Taiwan to step onto the pedestal in Incheon. They claimed the Bronze medals. Sanae Motokawa (175-F-92) scored 12 points to lead Japan to the victory. Taiwan claimed a 33:31 halftime lead. They extended teh advantage at 12-point mark holding Japan to just 6 points in the third term. But Japan responded with a 24:10 run in the fourth quarter and sealed the winning outcome. Evelyn Mawuli (180-C-95) accounted for 9 points in the victory. Huang Ping-Chen (178-F-89) and Tsai Pei-Chen (186-C-84) responded with 13 points each for Taiwan.
