Iran - Lebanon 63-65
Lebanon eked out a narrow win over hosting Iran. The home side recorded a 39-30 halftime lead. But Lebanon turned things around in the second half. They ignited a 35-24 rally after the big break and snatched a narrow win. Karim Rtail (198-F-2004) scored 17 points, while Bryan Mansour (188-PG-2004) added 10 points for the winning side. Mohammad Amini (192-G-2005, agency: BIG) tossed in 24 points and grabbed 9 rebounds for Iran.

Group B
China - India 105-65
China cruised past India in the opener. China claimed a 54-28 halftime lead. They erupted for 51 points in the second half to ease to the victory. Liu Jinyu (2005) came up with 28 points to pace the winners. Harsh Dagar (189-SG-2005) answered with 19 points for India.

Group C
Philippines - Syria 112-48
Philippines stormed past Syria to open win count in Tehran. Philippines grabbed a 53-16 halftime lead. They fired 59 points in the second half and eased to the victory. Mason Amos (201-C-2004) connected for 26 points, while Seven Gagate (203-C-2004) added 19 points and 9 rebounds in the win. George Kastntin (185-G-2004) netted 12 points for Syria.

Taiwan - Qatar 96-62
Taiwan rallied past Qatar to ensure 1-0 record in Tehran. Taiwan claimed a 52-28 halftime advantage. They followed with a 25-15 run in the fourth quarter to rally to the victory. Yeh Wei-Chieh (2005) dropped 21 points for the winners. Mohammed Abbasher (198-F-2004) answered with 19 points for Qatar.
