Indonesia topped Kazakhstan to earn the third position in Group A. Kazakhstan stayed in front in the first half. They accumulated a 41:37 halftime lead. But Indonesia responded with a 26;12 run in the final term to snatch the win. Yesaya Michael (177-PG-00) produced 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Ali Alhadar (195-SF-00) added 13 points for Indonesia. Nil Fomichyov (200-F-00) answered with 14 points and 10 rebounds for Kazakhstan.
Iran - Japan 71-64
Iran held off Japan to remain undefeated at the tournament. Behshad Arabzadeh (195-G-00) produced 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the victory. Iran eked out a 33:31 halftime lead. They stretched the lead at 5-point mark at the final break. Iran held Japan to just 15 points in the fourth frame to rally to the victory. Eshagh Hatami (190-F-00) netted 13 points in the win. Takuto Nakamura (182-G-01) answered with 17 points for Japan.
Group B
Lebanon - United Arab Emirates 84-57
Alexander Zanbaka (196-PF-02) tallied 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead Lebanon past UAE today. UAE and Lebanon were tied at 37. But Lebanon used a massive 47:20 second half run to march to the win. Ameer Kasab (201-C-00) had 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Hassn Hussein (190-F-00) dropped 15 points and collected 10 rebounds for UAE.
China - Philippines 63-73
Philippines knocked down China to gain the third straight victory in Group B. Sean Ildefonso (183-F-00) notched 18 points and 7 rebounds in the win. Philippines accumulated a 31:27 halftime lead. They followed with a 23:12 run in the third term to clear off for good. Ariel Edu had 13 points and 14 rebounds for Philippines. Haowen Guo (201-F-00) tossed in 24 points for China.
Group C
Australia - New Zealand 111-62
Five players scored in double figures as Australia cruised past New Zealand. The Emus recorded a 49:27 halftime lead. They exploded with 44 points in the third term to take a comfortable lead and never looked back en route to the win. Kyle Bowen (200-F-00) and Samson Froling (210-F/C-00) provided 19 points each for Australia. Flynn Cameron (191-G-00) netted 9 points for New Zealand.
Bahrain - Thailand 87-71
Bahrain stormed past Thailand to earn the first win in Nonthaburi. Mustafa Rashed (177-PG-02) dropped 33 points to lead the charge. Thailand ensured an 18:11 lead after ten minutes. But Bahrain poured in 76 points in the next three periods to race to the win. Muzamil Hamoda (198-G-02) notched 14 points for Bahrain. Pongsakorn Jaimsawad (179-SF-00) answered with 26 points for the hosts.
Group D
India - Syria 100-59
India finished the preliminary round on a high note. They stormed past Syria behind 32 opints from Rajeev Kumar (190-SG-01). India established a comfortable 49:20 halftime lead. They unleashed 30 points in the third term to clear off for good. Princepal Singh banked in 14 points for India. Mhd Al-Ghamian (203-C-01) tallied 15 points and 14 rebounds for Syria.
South Korea - Taiwan 97-86
South Korea registered the third win in a row. They beat Taiwan to stay perfect. Hyunjung Lee (192-F-00) chipped in 26 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. South Korea established a 46:41 halftime lead. They ignited a 26:16 run in the third frame to record a 15-point lead and protected the lead throughout the fourth quarter. Jun-Seok Yeo dropped 18 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for the winners. Ma Chien-Hao (197-C-01) had 25 points for Taiwan.
