Army Club : The League Champions!!
Written by: Amir Abou-El-Kheir & Mohammed Malas

Army Sports Club (Al Jaysh) deserved to be the champions of Qatar's Basketball League after securing it by beating Al Sadd by 16 72-56 in the last round of the league yesterday in Al Gharafa Club Court......
Al Rayyan's dominance in the Qatari Men's Basketball League came to a screeching halt Wednesday night thanks to a 32 point first half performance (10-11 from behind the arc) by forward Ali Turki (200-F-82) . Turki finished the contest with 38 points. An undermanned As Sadd Club squad was led by Saeed Kosar's 33 point effort, including 20 points in the second half.
Al Jaysh were ready from the get-go and the match was never in doubt as coach Soli (Milovahovic Dragoslav from Serbia) had his team relaxed and mentally prepared for the contest; something Coach Soli has emphasized the entire season and this match was a perfect illustration of his philosophy. The final score of 72-56 (50-16 at half time) was not as close as the score suggests.
Congratulations to both Coach Soli and the team members for an outstanding performance and a great season. Al Jaysh will now start preparing for both the Prince and King's Cups.
Al Rayyan and Al Arabi Club finished tied for second at 10-4, but due to Al Rayyan's two victories over Al Arabi Club during the season, Al Rayyan take second place and Al Arabi Club finish third.
