Indian Railways extended their dominance in the Indian basketball. They celebrated the 26th title in the last 28 editions of the National Championship. Indian Railways overcame Tamil Nadu to clinch Gold. Anna Jose Geethu (185-C-85) was unstoppable with 50 points and 16 boards for the winners.
Indian Railways and Tamil Nadu stayed close throughout the first quarter. The defending champions secured a 24:21 lead after ten minutes. The margin grew in the second quarter. Indian Railways opened an 11-point advantage at the interval 52:41. They managed to clear off in the third term. Indian Railways entered the fourth frame up by 21 points 79:58. They kept Tamil Nadu at distance throughout the final quarter and earned another title at the end. Anju Lakra (164-G-83) posted 14 points, while Anitha Kumari delivered 13 points for Indian Railways. R.Raja Priyadharshini answered with 23 points for Tamil Nadu. Apoorva Murlinath (179-F-89) chipped in 19 points and pulled down 17 boards in the defeat.

India recorded the crucial win at the U18 Asia Championship. They overcame hosting Malaysia in a tightly-contested battle to secure the place in Level I for the next edition of the tournament. Jeena Skaria (94) came up with 24 points and 11 boards to pace the visitors.
India grabbed a 15:11 lead ten minutes into the game. They maintained the lead throughout the second frame. India enjoyed a 34:26 halftime buffer. The teams traded baskets throughout the third quarter. India entered the fourth stanza up by 8 points 46:38. But the hosts refused to give up. Malaysia narrowed the deficit to a single point with just over a minute remaining. But several misses in the dying stages did not allow Malaysia to snatch the victory. They will have to start from Level II in the next edition of the competition. Anjana Geetha (177-F-94) had 10 points for the winners. Shi yeng Ng (186-C-94) answered with 20 points and 12 rebounds for Malaysia. Chiew Yen Lee (168-G/F-95) had 17 points in the loss.

India wins Level II with 4-0 record as they stormed past Sri Lanka in the start of the last day of the Preliminary Round. The team won 114:27 and remained undefeated. Sri Lanka meanwhile finished with 0-4 record.
India won the first period 25-13 and added massive 33-6 in the second period. Moreover the favorites limited Sri Lanka to just two points in the third period. They erupted with 27-2 and enjoyed 85:21 after 30 minutes. They added 29-6 in the last stanza for a comfortable win.
P.S. Jeena (178-F-94) top-scored for the winners with 24 points and 16 rebounds, while Anjana Geetha (177-F-94) and Anjana Ekka (174-F-95) scored 15 each. Sharanjeet Kaur (165-F-96) followed them with 11 points in a win. Chamodi Liyanaralalage (164-F-95) nailed 13 points in defeat and Anne Ravindran (156-F-96) added 6.
