Japan demolished India in the opener of the Asia Cup 2021. Japan erupted with a 136-46 win to take a 1-0 record in Group A.
Japan notched 41 points in the opening period and led 66-35 at the halftime. Moreover the favourites dominated the second half and easily reached the first win at the tournament.
Kiho Miyashita (178-SF-98) stepped up with 27 points for the winners and Monica Okoye (182-C/F-99) netted 24. Nemoto Haruno (176-F-95) posted 17, whilst Saki Hayashi (173-G-95) and Akaho Himawari (184-C-98) ended up with 14 points each. Pushpa Kumar (177-C-01) poured in 11 points in a loss.
