AARON NELSON

American Aaron Nelson (205-F-91) had an amazing evening in the last round for Byblos and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 27-year old forward had a double-double of 26 points and sixteen rebounds, while his team edged out Atlas F. (2-4) 81-79. Byblos is placed at 6th position in Lebanese LBL. Byblos is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-4 record. In the team's last game Nelson had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. He turned to be Byblos' top player in his first season with the team. University of Southern Indiana graduate has very impressive stats this year. Nelson is league's best scorer averaging so far 29.3ppg. Nelson is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 11.8rpg) and averages solid 2.3bpg and 57.9% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 25-year old American point guard Marvelle Harris (196-PG-93, agency: Slash Sports) of Moutahed. Harris impressed basketball fans with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as Moutahed lost that game 64-74 to the higher-ranked Al Riyadi (#1, 5-1). Moutahed managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 3-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Harris is a newcomer at Moutahed and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.8ppg (#2). He also registered 4.8 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was U.S. Virgin Islands Walter Hodge (183-PG-86) of second-ranked Homentmen. Hodge scored 21 points and passed seven assists. He was a key player of Homentmen, leading his team to a 74-66 win against the lower-ranked Sagesse (#9, 1-5). Homentmen is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 5-1 record is not that bad... Hodge has a great season in Lebanon. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 5.7apg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Ahmad Ismail (205-F/C-76) of Al Riyadi - 20 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Keanau Post (211-C/F-92) of Sagesse - 19 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Joseph Zaloum (180-PG-90) of Atlas F. - 15 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Darian Townes (208-F/C-84) of Atlas F. - 14 points and 11 rebounds
8. Jimmy Salem (190-G-95) of Moutahed - 12 points and 7 rebounds
9. Ali Farhat (183-PG) of Atlas F. - 15 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Chris Johnson (210-F/C-85) of Homentmen - 14 points and 3 rebounds
