Regular Season Round 9: Al Arabi - Al-Manama 75-77

Very significant was Bahrain Al-Manama's (#3) just 2-point road victory against second-best QatariAl Arabi 77-75 . It was a key game for the top position in the league. Al-Manama made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. American guard Tony Carr (196-1997, college: Penn State) nailed a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and Mohamed Kawaid (189-1989) accounted for 10 points and 5 rebounds. Bahrain point guard Mustafa Ali (177-2002) came up with 25 points and American Victor Rudd (206-1991, college: S.Florida) added 9 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Al Arabi in the defeat. Al-Manama have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending Bahrain champion (3-2) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Qadsia. Al Arabi at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Al Ittihad. Al-Manama will play against Al Ittihad (#3) in Jeddah in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Al Arabi will play on the road against the league's leader Qadsia in Kuwait City and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
