Regular Season Round 8: Dragons - City Wings 78-91

Bottom-ranked Dragons (0-5) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to sixth ranked Wings (2-3) 91-78. Wings outrebounded Dragons 47-24 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American center Amir Williams (211-1992, college: Ohio St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 29 points, 24 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import guard Jeremy Smith (190-1991, college: Nicholls St.) supported him with 29 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 19 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists by Ukrainian forward Yevgen Sakhniuk (201-1995, college: Jefferson) did not help to save the game for Dragons. American point guard Jermaine Marrow (183-1997, college: Hampton) added 19 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots) for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Wings moved-up to fifth place. Dragons at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Wings will play against Catfish (#6) in Can Tho in the next round. Dragons will have a break next round.
