Regular Season Round 5: Catfish - Dolphins 75-78

The most exciting game of round 5 in the VBA took place in Can Tho. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th ranked Catfish (1-5) to fourth ranked Dolphins (3-1) 78-75 on Friday evening. 24 personal fouls committed by Catfish helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Flenard Whitfield (201-1990, college: W.Michigan) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import point guard CJ Jackson (185-1996, college: Ohio St., agency: Blacktop Management) chipped in 28 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). American center DeAngelo Hamilton (203-1990, college: WSU) responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks and the former international point guard Sang Dinh Thanh (185-1994) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Dolphins moved-up to third place. Catfish lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with five games lost. Dolphins are looking forward to face Warriors (#5) in Hanoi in the next round. Catfish will play at home against Dragons and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
