Regular Season Round 5: Warriors - Buffaloes 69-84

Date: July 12, 2022
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Hanoi: Buffaloes (#5) and Warriors (#4). Warriors were defeated at home 69-84 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Warriors. Buffaloes dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Warriors' 22. Buffaloes forced 22 Warriors turnovers. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Shane Henry (203-1993, college: Virginia Tech) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points, 18 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winning side and point guard Jeffery Stubbs (189-1991, college: Jackson St.) accounted for 25 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals. Henry is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Buffaloes' coach Eric Weissling used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Clay Guillozet (193-1997, college: Valdosta St.) came up with 25 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) and center Raymond Miller (204-1988, college: CS Fullerton) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Warriors in the defeat. Buffaloes (3-2) moved-up to fourth place. Warriors at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Buffaloes will play against league's second-placed Heat in Saigon in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Warriors will play on the road against Dolphins in Nha Trang and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
