Second Stage Round 3: Bangkok Tigers - Devil Rays 82-93

Very significant was Devil Rays' (#2, 10-2) victory against Bangkok Tigers (8-4) 93-82. Devil Rays forced 29 Bangkok Tigers turnovers. Strangely Bangkok Tigers outrebounded Devil Rays 48-27 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American point guard Taishaun Johnson (183-1994, college: PVAMU) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 5 assists. International Moses Morgan (198-1992, college: CS Fullerton) helped adding 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Johnson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Devil Rays players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Cameroonian forward Gabriel Yeumo (200-1988) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds and swingman Panthawat Techasamran scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Devil Rays are looking forward to face TGE (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Bangkok Tigers will play against SWU and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
