Tigers outrebounded Chunghwa Telecom 41-28 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tigers made 7 blocks. American center Shelby Cheslek (196-1992, college: Gonzaga, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks. Center Yu-Wen Hsiao (184-2005) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. American forward Oshlynn Brown (185, college: Rutgers) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds and the former international power forward Hsiang-Ting Huang (180-1993) added 16 points in the effort for Chunghwa Telecom. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
