The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-rankedTaiwan Beer (14-7) against second ranked Bank of Taiwan on Friday night. Bank of Taiwan were edged by second ranked Bank of Taiwan (12-9) 105-103 . It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Strangely Taiwan Beer outrebounded Bank of Taiwan 35-23 including 21 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian forward Maurice Calloo (208-1999, college: Oregon St.) who helped to win the game recording 36 points (!!!) and 4 assists. The former international swingman Yu-Hsu Chen (195-1990) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Bank of Taiwan's coach used entire bench in such tough game. American power forward John Fields (205-1988, college: Tennessee) answered with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds and forward Yung-Chuan Tung (193-1999) added 21 points in the effort for Taiwan Beer. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bank of Taiwan have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 12-9 record having just two points less than leader Taiwan Beer. Taiwan Beer lost third consecutive game. They still keep top position with seven games lost.
