Regular Season Round 29: Pilots - Kings 89-90

Third-ranked Pilots (16-17) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Kings (24-8) in Taoyuan on Saturday. Kings managed to secure only one-point victory 90-89. However their fans expected easier game. Kings looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Pilots helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American swingman Kenny Manigault (195-1991, college: Pikeville) saved the victory by scoring 28 points and 9 rebounds. The former international power forward Quincy Davis (203-1983, college: Tulane) contributed with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winners. American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (213-1990, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and American forward Jeff Ayres (206-1987, college: Arizona St., agency: Slash Sports) added 21 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Pilots. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kings maintains first place with 24-8 record. Pilots lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the third position with 17 games lost. Kings are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Steelers (#6) in Kaohsiung in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Pilots will play on the road against Dreamers in Changhua and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
