Regular Season Round 21: Fubon Braves - Pilots 80-78

Important game to mention about was the one when third ranked Fubon Braves (12-9) saved a 2-point victory edging second-best Pilots (14-5) 80-78 on Saturday evening. Fubon Braves forced 20 Pilots turnovers. Strangely Pilots outrebounded Fubon Braves 55-43 including 17 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American power forward Chris Johnson (210-1985, college: LSU) nailed a double-double by scoring 12 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and the former international guard Chih-Chieh Lin (192-1982) accounted for 18 points and 4 assists. American forward Jeff Ayres (206-1987, college: Arizona St., agency: Slash Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds and Palestinian power forward Sani Sakakini (204-1988) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Pilots in the defeat. Four Fubon Braves and five Pilots players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Fubon Braves have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain third place with 12-9 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Kings. Pilots at the other side still keep top position with five games lost. They share it with Kings. Fubon Braves will play against Lioneers (#4) in Hsinchu in the next round. Pilots will play at home against Dreamers and hope to get back on the winning track.
