The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Pilots as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Pilots defeated 4th ranked Lioneers in Taoyuan 106-92. They outrebounded Lioneers 55-38 including a 43-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Pilots looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Lioneers' players. International guard Chun-Hsiang Lu (190-1997) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 4 assists. American forward Jeff Ayres (206-1987, college: Arizona St., agency: Slash Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Canadian forward Anthony Bennett (203-1993, college: UNLV) replied with 22 points and 9 rebounds and the former international forward Hsun-Yi Hsiao (192-1992) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Lioneers. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Lioneers at the other side keep the fourth place with 11 games lost. Lioneers will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Pilots will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Lioneers in Hsinchu.
