Regular Season Round 6: Lioneers - Steelers 102-101

A very close game was the one between Lioneers and Steelers. Fourth ranked Lioneers (3-2) got a very close victory over bottom-ranked Steelers (0-5). Lioneers managed to escape with a 1-point win 102-101 on Tuesday evening. Lioneers dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Steelers' 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Indian-Canadian center Sim Bhullar (226-1992, college: NM State) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds. The former international power forward Will Artino (211-1992, college: Creighton) chipped in a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Terrence Jones (206-1992, college: Kentucky) who recorded a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!), 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the former international point guard Yu-Wei Chen (183-1999) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Lioneers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Fubon Braves. Loser Steelers still closes the standings with five games lost. Lioneers will meet league's leader Dreamers in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Steelers will play against Fubon Braves (#3) in Taipei and hope to get finally their first victory.
