The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Cathay Life (4-1) against second ranked Taiyuan Textile on Wednesday night. Taiyuan Textile were defeated by Taiyuan Textile (4-1) 65-58. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Cathay Life. It was a key game for the top position in the league. International center Tieh Lin (182-99) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. The former international forward Ying-Chieh Wu (179-92) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international Yi-Xiu Zheng (178-93) answered with 12 points and 8 rebounds and the former international swingman Yu-Ting Lin (179-94) added 7 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Cathay Life. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Taiyuan Textile have a solid series of four victories in a row. They used an opportunity after Cathay Life lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position which they share with defeated Cathay Life. Taiyuan Textile is looking forward to face Taipower (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Cathay Life will play against Chunghwa Telecom and is hoping to win this game.
