Regular Season Round 5: Pilots - Lioneers 106-91

An exciting game was when Second ranked Pilots faced 4th placed Lioneers. Pilots (3-2) defeated Lioneers (1-5) 106-91. Pilots made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game. Pilots outrebounded Lioneers 54-35 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Pilots made 8 blocks. 25 personal fouls committed by Lioneers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Davon Reed (198-95, college: Miami, FL) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Forward LaDontae Henton (198-92, college: Providence) produced 23 points and power forward Julian Wright (203-87, college: Kansas, agency: Alti Sport) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Pilots. Five Pilots and four Lioneers players scored in double figures. Lioneers' coach Greg Lin rotated twelve players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pilots maintains second place with 3-2 record having four points less than leader Fubon Braves. Lioneers lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with five games lost. Pilots are looking forward to face Dreamers (#3) in Changhua City in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lioneers will play on the road against the league's leader Fubon Braves in Taipei and are hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
