Regular Season Round 8: LG Sakers - KCC Egis 81-72

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Changwon. Third rankedSakers faced second-ranked Egis . Host Sakers (7-2) defeated guests from Busan (6-3) 81-72 . It was a key game for the top position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-1992, college: MSU) who added 12 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. American forward Shawn Long (208-1993, college: Louisiana, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks and scored 18 points and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Five LG Sakers and four KCC Egis players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sakers have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Anyang. Loser Egis dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Suwon KT. LG Sakers will meet Sono SG (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. KCC Egis will play against Seoul Thunders (#7) and hope to secure a win.
