Regular Season Round 5: Anyang - Sono SG 82-84

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Skygunners (2-5) edged on the road 6th ranked Anyang (4-3) 84-82 on Saturday. Forward Jong-hyun Lee (191-1999) stepped up and scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and American Deyonta Davis (211-1996, college: Michigan St., agency: MSG) chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds. Four Skygunners players scored in double figures. Skygunners' coach Byong-Chul Kim used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The former international point guard Jihoon Park (184-1995) responded with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and American power forward Darryl Monroe (202-1986, college: GMU) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. Skygunners moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Seoul Thunders. Defending champion Anyang dropped to the second position with three games lost. They share it with Mobis Phoebus and LG Sakers. Skygunners will meet higher ranked Sonicboom (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Anyang will play against Egis (#7) and hope to secure a win.
