Regular Season Round 27: Anyang - KoGas 87-85

Ninth-ranked KoGas (13-22) made lots of trouble for first ranked Anyang (25-10) on Sunday. Anyang managed to secure only two-point victory 87-85. However their fans expected much easier game. Anyang made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Anyang had a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Junhyeong Byeon (186-1996) who scored 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international center Sek-Eun Oh (200-1987) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Dae-Sung Lee (192-1990, college: BYU-Hawaii) who recorded 29 points and 6 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and American power forward Devon Scott (206-1994, college: Dayton) added 15 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. Five Anyang and four KoGas players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Anyang maintains first place with 25-10 record. KoGas lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 22 games lost. Anyang are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Seoul Thunders (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. KoGas will play against Suwon KT and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
