No shocking result in a game when second ranked KT Sonicboom (35-16) beat 5th ranked Goyang Orions (26-27) in Busan 81-65 on Saturday. KT Sonicboom looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by the former international forward Hongseok Yang (199-1997) who scored that evening 19 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Hoon Heo (181-1995) supported him with 15 points and 4 assists. Even 23 points by the former international forward Dae-Sung Lee (192-1990, college: BYU-Hawaii) did not help to save the game for Goyang Orions. American forward Murphy Holloway (201-1990, college: Ole Miss, agency: Octagon Europe) added 5 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. KT Sonicboom maintains second position with 35-16 record having just three points less than leader SK Knights. Loser Goyang Orions dropped to the sixth place with 27 games lost. KT Sonicboom will meet KoGas (#5) in the next round. Goyang Orions will play against Samsung Th. in Seoul and hope to secure a win.
