Regular Season Round 36: KT Sonicboom - LG Sakers 81-73

There was no surprise in Busan where 6th ranked LG Sakers (19-25) were defeated by third ranked KT Sonicboom (25-14) 81-73 on Thursday. KT Sonicboom looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Hoon Heo (181-1995) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 assists and the former international forward Hongseok Yang (199-1997) who added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five KT Sonicboom players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-1992, college: MSU) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds and the former international point guard Jae-Do Lee (180-1991) scored 21 points and 6 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. KT Sonicboom have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 25-14 record having eleven points less than leader SK Knights. Loser LG Sakers dropped to the seventh place with 25 games lost. KT Sonicboom will meet DB Promy (#6) in the next round. LG Sakers will play against Goyang Orions in Daegu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
