Regular Season Round 5: KoGas - Samsung Th. 95-86

There was a small surprise in Inchon where sixth ranked KoGas (3-4) beat 4th placed Samsung Th. (3-3) 95-86 on Sunday. KoGas made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Canadian Andrew Nicholson (206-89, college: St.Bonaventure) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds for the winners and guard Sang-Yeol Cho (188-89) chipped in 17 points. American center Isaiah Hicks (206-94, college: UNC) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and center Weon-Seok Lee (203-0) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four KoGas and five Samsung Th. players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory KoGas went down to eighth position due to points difference. Loser Samsung Th. dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with KCC Egis and Anyang KGC. KoGas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Samsung Th. will play against Anyang KGC (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
