Regular Season Round 39: Anyang KGC - Samsung Th. 92-85

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Samsung Th. (20-26) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Anyang KGC (24-22) 92-85 on Thursday. Anyang KGC shot 62.7 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Anyang KGC looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Jae-Do Lee (180-91) who scored 18 points and 8 assists. American forward Jared Sullinger (206-92, college: Ohio St.) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Isaiah Hicks (206-94, college: UNC) who recorded 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Hyun-Soo Kim (185-90) added 18 points respectively. Five Anyang KGC and four Samsung Th. players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Anyang KGC moved-up to fourth place, which they share with ET Land and KT Sonicboom. Loser Samsung Th. keeps the seventh position with 26 games lost. Anyang KGC will face bottom-ranked LG Sakers (#10) in Changwon in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Samsung Th. will play on the road against ET Land in Inchon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
