There was a surprise result when ninth ranked DB Promy (16-26) beat higher ranked KT Sonicboom (22-21) in Busan 88-73 on Saturday. It was a very good performance for American forward Yante Maten (203-96, college: Georgia) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Japanese guard Taichi Nakamura (190-97) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Four DB Promy players scored in double figures. American Brandon Brown (201-85, college: CSUSB) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Jiwon Park (193-98) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for KT Sonicboom. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. DB Promy maintains ninth place with 16-26 record. Loser KT Sonicboom keeps the fifth position with 21 games lost. DB Promy will face bottom-ranked LG Sakers (#10) in Changwon in the next round. KT Sonicboom will play at home against the league's leader KCC Egis (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
