Very expected game in Safwa where 9th rankedAl Safa (3-10) was rolled over by third ranked Al-Ula (11-2) 102-79 . Al-Ula dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Al Safa 's 34. They outrebounded Al Safa 48-29 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Al-Ula players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-1987, college: NM State) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!), 6 assists and 4 steals. The former international center Mohammed Alsuwailem (211-1998) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Coach Stratos Koukoulekidis's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. South Sudanese guard Dhieu Abwok (196-2001, college: UTSA) answered with 30 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Rayan Alahmed added 11 points and 5 assists in the effort for Al Safa. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Al-Ula . Newly promoted Al-Ula maintains third place with 11-2 record having just two points less than leader Al Ittihad. Al Safa lost their fifth game in a row. Al Safa at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Ohod and Al Khaleej.
