The game between 12th ranked Al Ansar (1-12) and ninth ranked Al Salam (4-9) in Medina on Friday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Al-Awamiyah outscored Al Ansar 115-92. Al Salam dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Al Ansar's 34. They outrebounded Al Ansar 46-28 including a 34-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Stover is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Al Salam players scored in double figures. American point guard Jawan Davis (184-1989, college: Claflin, agency: Interperformances) came up with 35 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Ahmed Almoqry added 25 points respectively for Al Ansar in the defeat. Al Salam maintains ninth place with 4-9 record. Al Ansar lost their twelfth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Al Salam will meet higher ranked Al Hilal (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Al Ansar will play against Deba (#8) in Tabuk and hope to win that game.
