Regular Season Round 5: Al Ansar - Al Nassr 65-93

There was no surprise in Medina where 10th ranked Al Ansar (1-4) was crushed by fifth ranked Al Nasr (4-1) 93-65 on Thursday. Al Nasr dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Al Ansar's 22. They outrebounded Al Ansar 48-31 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Antonio Campbell (206-1994, college: Ohio) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 18 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Turki Almuhanna (183-1988) chipped in 24 points and 4 assists. Five Al Nasr players scored in double figures. Al Nasr's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Gerard Tarin (206-1996, college: Nova SE) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and Guyanese-American center Anthony Moe (206-1990, college: Millersville) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Al Nasr moved-up to second place, which they share with Ohod and Al Fateh. Al Ansar lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Al Nasr will meet Ohod (#4) in the next round. Al Ansar will play against the league's second-placed Al Fateh (#2) in Al Hasa and hope to win that game.
