There was no surprise in Doha where 7th ranked Al Wakrah (3-7) was defeated by third ranked Qatar Club (8-2) 78-67 on Monday. Qatar Club looked well-organized offensively handing out 40 assists. Serbian Dejan Janjic (198-1995) had a triple-double by scoring 26 points, 15 rebounds and 15 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Brian Halums (196-1997, college: UAFS) chipped in 26 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. At the losing side American swingman Brandon Spearman (191-1991, college: Hawaii) responded with 31 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international center Ndour Mame Souleye (206-1987) produced a triple-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. Qatar Club have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Al Sadd and Al Shamal. Al Wakrah lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with seven games lost. Qatar Club's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Shamal.
