The most surprising game was a loss of Al Wakrah (2-1) in Doha on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by Al Ahli (1-2) 92-78. Al Ahli looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Alex Young (198-1989, college: IUPUI) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. The former international swingman Khalid Abdi (198-1987) helped adding 18 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals. The best for the losing side was American guard Donte McGill (190-1995, college: FIU, agency: Green Sports Management) with 28 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and the former international center Ndour Mame Souleye (206-1987) scored 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Al Wakrah players scored in double figures. Al Ahli will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Al Wakrah will play at home against Al Gharafa and is hoping to win this game.
