The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: Al Shamal (#5) and Al Rayyan (#8). Al Rayyan was defeated at home 83-96 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Al Rayyan. They outrebounded Al Rayyan 42-30 including 35 on the defensive glass. Al Shamal looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Al Rayyan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian-Montenegrin forward Milko Bjelica (207-1984) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Willie Warren (193-1989, college: Oklahoma, agency: Interperformances) who added 22 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Indonesian Jalil Bassit (193) with 18 points and 4 assists and international center Meho Haracic (213-1998) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Five Al Shamal and four Al Rayyan players scored in double figures. Al Shamal maintains fifth position with 9-6 record. Al Rayyan at the other side dropped to the bottom place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Al Khor.
