The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: Al Sadd (#3) and Qatar Club (#8). Al Sadd (9-3) won against visiting Qatar Club (3-10) 73-61. Greek center Zisis Sarikopoulos (213-1990, college: Ohio St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds for the winners and American guard Byron Ashe (186-1995, college: Longwood) chipped in 13 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Al Sadd's coach Vassilis Bratsiakos used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Senegalese center Oumar Seck (208-1988) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and American guard Aaron Parks (190-1994, college: CSUN) scored 15 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al Sadd moved-up to second place. Qatar Club lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
