The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Al Wakrah as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Al Wakrah defeated 6th ranked Al Arabi at home 75-63. Al Wakrah looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Al Wakrah made 10 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Brandon Spearman (191-91, college: Hawaii) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks. International power forward Erfan Saeed (198-83) contributed with 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Spearman is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American power forward Joshua Caldwell (203-91, college: William Penn, agency: SDJ Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Nick West (210-94, college: AAMU) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Al Arabi. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Al Arabi at the other side keeps the sixth place with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
