Regular Season Round 5: Al Khor - Al Rayyan 98-75

Al Khor's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after one consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Al Rayyan (0-2) 98-75. They outrebounded Al Rayyan 41-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. Bosnian forward Milan Milosevic (204-85) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American guard Jeff Newberry (188-92, college: OK State) chipped in 17 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Al Khor players scored in double figures. DR Congolese-Canadian guard Myck Kabongo (190-92, college: Texas) responded with 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American Tavarion Nix (201-92, college: Midwestern St.) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 19 rebounds. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. Al Khor (1-1) left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with Al Shamal. Al Rayyan at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with Qatar Club. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
