Regular Season Round 4: Al Wakrah - Al Sadd 78-87

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Al Wakrah (1-1) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by Al Sadd (1-0) 87-78. It was a key game for the top position in the league. International forward Babacar Dieng (197-97) fired a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Byron Ashe (186-95, college: Longwood) chipped in 20 points and 9 assists. Four Al Sadd players scored in double figures. American Julius Coles Jr (193-89, college: Canisius) produced 32 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and his fellow American import swingman Brandon Spearman (191-91, college: Hawaii) added 28 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side.
