Al Wakrah defeated Al Arabi at home 89-81. Al Wakrah looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American swingman Brandon Spearman (191-91, college: Hawaii) who scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import Julius Coles Jr (193-89, college: Canisius) chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Spearman is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Al Wakrah players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Sammy Monroe (198-85, college: Newberry) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Nick West (210-94, college: AAMU) added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
