Quarter-Finals Round 1: Hotshots - Meralco Bolts 95-89

It was a great shooting night forHotshots especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 66.7 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Bolts ' players. Bolts were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Clinton Chapman (208-1989, college: Texas, agency: Diamond Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Jerom Lastimosa (178-1998) accounted for 17 points. Guard Chris Newsome (187-1990, college: Georgetown, KY) came up with 23 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and American center Marvin Jones (213-1993, college: Texas Southern) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Bolts in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
