The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Manila:Ginebra Kings (#5) and Meralco Bolts (#3). Meralco Bolts were defeated at home 96-110 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Meralco Bolts. Ginebra Kings looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Meralco Bolts helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Naturalized German forward Christian Standhardinger (206-1989, college: Hawaii) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Scottie Thompson (188-1993) contributed with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Zach Lofton (193-1993, college: NM State, agency: Slash Sports) replied with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and naturalized American Clifford Hodge (196-1988, college: HPU) added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Meralco Bolts. Five Ginebra Kings and four Meralco Bolts players scored in double figures. Meralco Bolts' coach Luigi Trillo rotated twelve players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ginebra Kings (6-3) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with SM Beermen. Meralco Bolts at the other side keep the third position with two games lost.
