Regular Season Round 4: North Port - TNT Tropang 128-123

Everything could happen in Pasig City at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked North Port and 7th ranked TNT Tropang had identical 2-2 record. This time North Port used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Makati 128-123 on Friday night. North Port looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian forward Venkatesha Jois (203-1993, college: EWU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and forward Arvin Tolentino (195-1995) who added 27 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American-Jordanian forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (201-1995, college: Arizona) responded with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Calvin-John Oftana (195-1996) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. North Port (3-2) moved-up to sixth place. Loser TNT Tropang keeps the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with NLEX RW and Terrafirma Dyip. North Port will meet higher ranked SM Beermen (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. TNT Tropang will have a break next round.
