There was no surprise in Manila where 11th ranked TNT Tropang (4-8) was crushed by sixth ranked SM Beermen (6-5) 119-99. SM Beermen dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to TNT Tropang's 36. SM Beermen had a 42-30 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. It was a very good performance for American power forward Devon Scott (206-1994, college: Dayton) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Center June Mar Fajardo (210-1989) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. American Matt Mobley (195-1994, college: St.Bonaventure) answered with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and Roger Ray Pogoy (189-1992) added 23 points in the effort for TNT Tropang. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. SM Beermen have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place. TNT Tropang lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with eight games lost.
