The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Hotshots as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Hotshots smashed 11th ranked Blackwater Elite in Pasig City 91-69. Hotshots dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Blackwater Elite's 34. Hotshots forced 19 Blackwater Elite turnovers and outrebounded them 50-35 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Hotshots looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Serbian-American forward Nick Rakocevic (211-1997, college: USC, agency: Pensack Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Jiovani Jalalon (175-1992) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Four Hotshots players scored in double figures. American center Cameron Krutwig (206-1998, college: Loyola, IL) produced 8 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and Renato Ular added 14 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Blackwater Elite lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with six games lost. Blackwater Elite will play next round against Meralco Bolts trying to get back on the winning streak. Hotshots will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
