Regular Season Round 15: Phoenix - Meralco Bolts 90-109

Another interesting game for Meralco Bolts (6-4) which played in Quezon against Phoenix (5-5). Seventh ranked Meralco Bolts had an easy win 109-90. The game was mostly controlled by Meralco Bolts. Phoenix was better in second period 27-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Meralco Bolts players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a great evening for Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-1989, college: Texas St., agency: 011 Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Allein Maliksi (191) helped adding 27 points. The best for the losing side was American forward DuVaughn Maxwell (201-1991, college: Hampton) with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized Canadian guard Matthew Wright (193-1991, college: St.Bonaventure) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Four Meralco Bolts and five Phoenix players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Meralco Bolts moved-up to fifth place. Phoenix at the other side keeps the eighth position with five games lost.
