Regular Season Round 12: Hotshots - SM Beermen 104-87

PBA top team - Hotshots (8-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat fifth ranked SM Beermen (5-4) in Pasig City 104-87. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of SM Beermen. Hotshots players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of American Mike Harris (198-1983, college: Rice) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds and guard Paul Lee (185-1989) who added 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American Shabazz Muhammad (198-1992, college: UCLA) with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 17 rebounds and guard Jaymar Perez (188-1993) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hotshots maintains first position with 8-1 record. SM Beermen at the other side keeps the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Ginebra Kings. Hotshots will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. SM Beermen's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Manila Rain or Shine.
