Regular Season Round 7: Hotshots - TNT Tropang 96-93

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Hotshots as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Hotshots edged 9th ranked TNT Ka Tropa in Pasig City 96-93. Hotshots dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to TNT Ka Tropa's 42. They outrebounded TNT Ka Tropa 52-37 including 41 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds. Point guard Andy Barroca (176-88) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American-Mexican forward Aaron Fuller (198-89, college: USC, agency: Haylett Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Jayson Castro William (180-86) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for TNT Ka Tropa. Four TNT Ka Tropa players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Hotshots have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Defending champion TNT Ka Tropa keeps the ninth place with four games lost. They share the position with Terrafirma Dyip. TNT Ka Tropa will play next round against Ginebra Kings trying to get back on the winning streak. Hotshots will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked NLEX RW at Makati City.
